We all know family portraits can be tricky, no child wants to pose for the camera too long and most would prefer to be playing. I know I definitely did! With that in mind I do family portraits differently from most. We do this by going to some of the stunning locations nearby. Then the sessions themselves are child led so the goal is to make it as fun and enjoyable for them as possible. With each 'pose' designed to look as natural and as unposed as possible. Don't worry about your kids being shy or grumpy at the start of the session. This is totally normal before you know it they'll be laughing and letting their true personality shine through.
On average I deliver a minimum of 40 photos though this usually closer to 60. These are edited in both colour and black and white.
There'll be a range of photos from group family shots of you all both sitting and standing.
Photos of each child on their own.
Then photos with all the children together.
A few photos of mum so the kids have got something to remember their mum when they're all grown up.
Photos of each individual child with each parent.
Not forgetting photos of mum and dad both together too.
Finally we finish with another lot of group photos these are always a particular favourite with the kids.
There will also be the traditional posed photo of everyone looking at the camera to give to the grandparents.
There is no photoshopping done on any of my portraiture work (with the exception of any very minor skin retouching or removing any dirt on clothes where possible) instead I'll use my knowledge of posing to get the most complimentary shots.
When the photoshoot is finished I shall start editing and post a sneak preview as soon as possible on Instagram @luke_burnhope_photography and Facebook @lukeburnhopephotography . If you prefer not to have your family shown on social media the sneak preview will be emailed to you instead.
After this we'll arrange the reveal session. Here we'll go through printing options as well as going through a slideshow of the photos.
At this meeting you will be given a link to your own gallery viewable by only you the client. Here you will be able to buy the rest of the photos should you choose in a variety of formats from a digital file suitable for web use to paper prints and stunning wall art perfect for your family home.
Please note any printed product purchased will also include a copy of the digital file suitable for use on Facebook and other social media.
