1) Your children will love it!

Children love an adventure, they love to explore and play. Having your session outdoors means that the kids have space to run around and be themselves. We don't spend long posing instead a session becomes less about the photos and more about a fun time with the family. One thing I love about photographing outdoors, is that the children often forget about the camera. Which means we get those beautiful natural photos and of course no fake smiles.

2) Your photos will be unique and authentic to you.

A well setup studio is beautiful there is no denying that. However a photo studio is the same for everyone there is likely to be 100s if not more of family photos with the exact same backdrops, and with exactly the same props too.

But having your family photo session outdoors offers so many options and background choices. No plain boring backgrounds here! A wildflower meadow could be your theme, a magical forest some of the trees on Cannock Chase are over 400 years old! Heathland a wild open field, a country road, the possibilities are endless. When choosing a location think of a place that will mean something to you. Where do you love to go with your family, make a day of it!

3) Genuine Memories Made

Instead of getting everyone in the car and heading to a studio to have your family portraits taken, stressing about how you look and how the kids will behave. Whether or not they're going to knock over an expensive light or trip on a cable. )utdoor lifestyle photography is more like an outing with your family (while you get your photo taken!) its stress free, comfortable and most of the time its completely unpredictable ! Natural moments unfold, unplanned photographs are taken, genuine memories are made.

4. Outdoor lifestyle photography is casual and you can dress that way.

One thing I often get asked by mums before their outdoor family photo session is what to wear. I always encourage them to keep it simple, casual and of course comfortable.

5. Passing seasons, capturing this moment in time

I could photograph at the same location countless number of times, and each photo session would look unique. Summer sessions my personal favourite are brighter and more vibrant. They're full of energy with families wearing their summer clothes, Autumn has a cosier feel with fallen leaves and beautiful tones, Winter has families all wrapped up warm in their winter coats and woolly hats, gloves and wellies, Spring sessions are fresh and full of life. The lighting changes , the weather changes and the colours change. Depending on the season and time of day, each session will have a completely different feel, bring you right back to that moment in time.

So if you've reached this point and love the idea of an outdoor photography session then I can't wait to hear from you.
